Review on πŸ”Š High-performance Eminence American Standard Delta-10A Speaker: 10" Pro Audio, 350 Watts @ 8 Ohms by Chris Hossain

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Glad I found this speaker!

Hello readers! I needed to simplify the vocal monitor setup for our church folk group with five singers, each with their own vocal mic, two amplified guitars, an electric bass, a drum kit with no mic, and sometimes a piano with no mic (instead of the first guitar/bandleader). Five singers share two small voice monitors. More recently we've been experimenting with adding an extra vocal monitor to the back of our stage so the drummer, bassist and sometimes the pianist can hear the singers better. We had connection issues due to the design limitations of our powered mixer, which only had a 300W power amplifier with a minimum impedance of 4 ohms, which is equivalent to driving the speakers of our two small wedge monitors, each with a 10" speaker on 8 ohms. So our side fill monitor had to be powered. As a bass player and volunteer sound engineer at our church, I had extra bass boost equipment that could be used as a powerful side monitor (a small bass amp with speaker cabinet extension or a small bass combo amp.) I wanted to simplify our unit (by eliminating an AC power divider, a range extender cable, and a long 1/4" signal cable to connect my bass amp/power monitor to the main output of the powered mixer) with a unpowered side-fill monitor that only works I'm replacing the speakers in two small vocal monitors with 10" 16 ohm speakers. I'm so glad I found the 16 ohm Eminence Delta-10B speakers. Housed in their wedge-shaped walnut-veneered chipboard cabinets, they sound very good (warm and clean) and almost as loud as the 8-ohm Scorpions they replace. with a small homemade power strip fitted with a 10 inch 8 ohm Scorpion speaker. The new 10-inch Eminence Delta-10B speakers sound very natural, with almost as much upper midrange as the 10-inch Scorpions they replaced. Luckily, our powered mixer has a 7-band graphic EQ that slightly boosts the Delta-10B's upper mids to keep the singers happy! I should mention that none of our three vocal monitors use piezo tweeters. or compression driver horns. In addition to the 10-inch one-way speakers already mentioned, for our rear monitor we tried a home-made one-way wedge-shaped enclosure with an upright 12-inch D120F at the end for our rear monitor, but it was too loud. !My 4 star rating reflects the 3lb weight gain due to replacing the speakers but I guess that's not too bad as we 60's will be in better shape by the time we move (two trips!, one each) at once). !) our pair of powerful 33 lb Eminence Delta-10B 350 watt vocal monitors every Sunday at church. Thank you for reading my review to the end.
