Works great with a small Lenox propane torch. I also bought another brand and tried them side by side. The other brand was complete crap and I swear it was just aluminum wire from China with a melting point probably over 1000 degrees. These Blue Domon brand sticks, on the other hand, melted and bonded together well, and I didn't even prep the area for my test. A video was posted that was basically warning users about another brand that I had purchased but also showed that brand so the video might be helpful. For some applications you will need an actual flashlight like a Lenox or Mapping Gas, but a Lowes trash flashlight will probably work for most applications with enough patience. They are made in the USA. Another brand I tried was China. Although they are much larger than the junk brand, they are perfectly melted and stick together. For reference, the junk brand (Elecxlink) I tried was about twice the price. 20 rods x 2mm = about 1/8lb for $10. This package contained 22 x 3.2 mm (1/8 in.) x 17-3/4 in. lb. rods. I wanted to see if there is a difference. Pretty clear answer there!
