I see reviews on here that say "You have to insert the wire from the side!" No, that's just one possibility. Insert the wire from the side if you want the connector to be stackable. In other words, a plug fits at the end. But if you don't need it, insert the wire from the back as shown in the photo for black. (The picture shows 16 AWG wire.) I think they are fully functional and suitable for general use. Note, however, that the threads of the screws are very coarse and therefore the force required to hold the wire securely is greater than some human hands can apply.
