Update. the battery in the remote control is empty. We had to fiddle with the wiring to get it to turn on, but it works. The remote control does not work. I'm not sure if the battery works or not. I've moved to a new house and ordered these lamps for my son's room. I'm trying to install it right now. I crooked the headlights a bit, tried peeling them off to straighten them after sticking them to the wall for 10 seconds, the paint ripped off the wall. You'll have to repaint the room if you decide you don't like them or if they don't work! The remote control looks very used. You can see the nail marks on the remote control
