This is a great idea for a general purpose off-road tool and I will be using it as I have made some improvements. Here's what I had to do: 1) I sharpened the ax to a decent edge. It was stupid to say the least when it arrived. 2) I sharpened the end of the pan tool to a sharp point. It was round, pitted, and off-center. 3) I sharpened the "chop" end of the strip to a thinner edge as it was very dull and pitted. All three operations required significant grinding to bring them to the desired condition. Another suggestion would be to find a way to sink the center bracket on the two-piece scoop handle. As you swing your axe, slide one hand up the handle. If you slide your hand up on this handle and get distracted, you will injure yourself with the current head design. (I haven't decided how I want to convert the handle mounts yet). All in all, if you use both ends of the strip to break rocks or just dig holes, this is the "as is" tool for the job. If you're clearing bushes or chopping wood, good luck with the planks and ax "as is". Hi-Lift Proposal: Rethink your technique and quality control. People who use these tools are usually accustomed to using tools that are more carefully made than formed, discarded, and sold "as is". The cast requires some cleaning and fine tuning before the piece is complete. Be proud of your products.
