I've been using them on my bike for over a year now and so far they've worked wonders. They are easy to assemble, although due to the fact that they are made of metal and not plastic, they require a little more force to screw on and off. As long as you install them correctly there is no risk of air leaks (at least on a motorcycle I don't know how they work in a car). In my experience there is no difference between these stem caps and the factory caps. came with the bike (except of course the sensor). I no longer have to inflate my tires regularly and drive every day. The gauge works pretty well, going from green (full) to amber (low, pump ASAP) to red (danger, pump STAT). I can't speak about the bad experiences others have had with them. Maybe they're using the wrong type for their print, maybe they have faulty ones, maybe they're not screwing them in properly. It is true that by design the stems always put pressure on the valve. So if the tip breaks, the air will inevitably escape faster than if a normal cap breaks, so the risk has to be considered. However, since the whole purpose of these caps is to check them regularly, you should find out in good time if there is a problem. I recommend keeping spares on hand just in case.
