With a maximum aperture of f4.0 it's not very fast, but this lens and the 20MP NX 1000 camera sensor produce excellent images in good natural light. Optical stabilization aside, for TV work I used this lens with a small camera body mounted on a full-size tripod. The lens has good shading, which is necessary to avoid flare as the front element is not too deep. The list price is high, but like kit-lens NX cameras, it's often available at reduced prices. The Samsung 85mm f1.4 lens might be better for my purposes, but it has a list price of $1,000 and no discounts. Some retailers also refer to the 50-250 zoom lens as a cinema lens. While the camera captures HD video perfectly, I have not yet used this lens to capture video.
