They are bigger and stronger than I expected. I'm more than happy with the light levels as I didn't want to use them as bat signals or alien landing lights. I also love that they are individually wrapped. So if you give them to a friend or family member, don't look like someone is giving you junk you don't need. I don't know about lifespan or durability but I've already dropped one on concrete and it works better than dropping me on concrete with a lump. I considered taking off a star because they are quite warm but I knew that when I bought them so no harm no harm. So if you have a powered USB port you have light and extra heat :}
