I needed shelves to "complete" a new desk I bought. These two cost more than I thought I would have to spend, but after they arrived I was disappointed with how much I spent. One had a full length tear on the bottom. I contacted Revain for a replacement - and found they had two months left for restocking! So I wanted to fix this. I applied painter's tape to both sides of the crack and then sealed the crack with a two-part epoxy. I then peeled off the masking tape and found that it peeled most of the so-called "finish" off the wood. If this lightweight tape did the trick - I wonder what a few weeks of regular use will do to it! I need two more trays but this time I'll just make my own! And while I'm about to finish them, I might as well sand them down and give them a half decent finish!
