I don't normally leave reviews like this, but I want every current and potential buyer to know my experience. First of all, I love the product itself and its design. Recently, however, lightning struck a light pole about 20 feet from my house and caused a power surge that tripped several switches in my house. I had a TV, a home theater receiver, a Raspberry PI 2, a MagicJack, and a wireless router connected to a surge protector. The TV was the only device that was off at the time and the lightning strike had no effect on it. However, all other devices were turned on and did not work after the lightning strike. After the storm subsided, I turned all the switches back on and found that all of the above devices would not turn on except for the TV. Having recently purchased a surge protector (both bulbs worked on the surge protector) and having all the paperwork, I went through the claims process. I was absolutely disappointed in Belkin when they returned my surge protector and said they found no sign of a surge and would not compensate me for my losses (which were less than $1,000). They sent pictures of their "testing" procedures, which are basic tests of the electronics (output voltage from at least 1 outlet, reported no evidence of arcing, said the light was working on a surge protector, and showed a picture of it). and then denies the claim. So now I have damaged equipment that should have been protected by a nice but clearly non-working product and a rejected claim from Belkin. Personally, I will now avoid Belkin products after this ridiculous experience, but I just wanted to let other potential buyers and current owners, particularly of this product, know that either their requirements review process is not complete OR the product is not designed well enough to "show signs".
