Review on 🐶 Carlson Pet Products Tuffy Metal Expandable Pet Gate with Small Pet Door, Beige, 24 x 22-38 inch by Meichelle Cortez

As a dog trainer who once recommended Carlson products to all of their clients, especially those with new puppies, I have a lot of experience using their 'expandable' and 'expandable' passage gates . My own house has at least 5 expandable gates and 3 passage gates. They all failed long before a quality product would wear out through normal wear and tear. Expandable gates failed within a year of purchase, gate latches failed for 14 months. Passage gate latches are all plastic except for the spring and small metal plates with holding drive knobs. A few months of short use. Although they are an invaluable product, the workmanship is of questionable quality. have 4 rubber bumpers where the gate touches the door frame or wall. These rubber bumpers are just rubber with no reinforcement to prevent the bolt from being pulled through the bumper rendering it unusable. I've tried modifying them with a small washer so I can reattach the protective rubber bumper but to no avail. I'm not sure what form of liability Carlson takes for supporting their products, but don't expect customer service. This does not mean that a broken gate will cause the dog to fall off the cliff. In addition, it would make it difficult for a person to enter the room or require the person to step further through the lower expandable gate. Unless I see a change in Carlson's investment in their products, I will no longer be a customer and cannot morally recommend their products.
