Use them vertically with lightning cables so they don't pull out.
I do like these a lot but i purchased them specifically for our bedside tables and when I put them horizontal on the face of the table our lightning cables seem to have too much tension and pull out. I put a new on on the side going vertical and it seemed to solve the problem. Once you pull one off it loses the majority of its adhesiveness and is basically garbage. Thankfully I bought the 9 pack anticipating some trial and error.
