I liked my first UE Boom so much that I bought a second one. The sound was incredible. that is, until the battery in each of the blocks runs out. The battery cannot be replaced and the company has no place to send the used battery for recycling. So this amazing speaker is no more than $200 disposable heavy metal. I am very disappointed because I used both speakers differently. I travel the world and often go to places where there isn't good AV. I have a very good Boxlight LED projector and paired with the UE Boom I was able to give amazing presentations to over 100 people who were often amazed at what I can do with a backpack. I've also used the speakers as a home sound system, in the car, in a community garden, while cycling, pretty much anywhere. As I am writing this review in the past tense. The fact that the batteries aren't replaceable or recyclable, rendering the speaker useless and disposable, should be a crime. But then again, who in this crappy world really cares how and where these heavy metals are mined and what happens when they fill landfills, break down and seep into our aquifers.
