My two children went to school wearing necklaces all day and only one came back working. It even turned out to be a necklace worn by my calmest kid, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't roughed up. Behind where the batteries are, there are some separate connections. If I pull with enough force (which isn't that much), it lets go. Could this be a security feature? But only two of them made it...? But you get 4 necklaces for a decent price and they look fun and bright so I think they're still worth buying.
