You spend more time helping your child cut (their little fingers try to cut you) because otherwise they just crumple up the paper. waste of time and money. I would suggest other scissors if your LO really wants to cut something. If they just wanted to play with scissors it would be safer and still be fun. Mine (24 months old) really wanted to cut so I bought him real (regular) blunt tip scissors (to protect against punctures) and he can cut paper all day. hair too.
