These scissors are practice scissors for toddlers and come with a spring on the back to hold the scissors open. To use (cut) them, the user must close them. They are perfect for my 2 year old who is learning dexterity by holding pencils and learning to cut in preschool. She can actually use them without too much trouble, but she needs to practice first. She can use them with both her right and left hand, although she is mostly left-handed. The scissors are exactly as pictured and I did not feel

Waste of time if you want to cut paper.

Of course they help practice cutting movements. But the blades are essentially little strips of serrated foil, and they don't cut anything. You spend more time helping your child cut (their little fingers try to cut you) because otherwise they just crumple up the paper. waste of time and money. I would suggest other scissors if your LO really wants to cut something. If they just wanted to play with scissors it would be safer and still be fun. Mine (24 months old) really wanted to cut so I…

This gives him the ability to use the scissors while maintaining control without worrying about the scissors opening while cutting. They have a spring so they open automatically. Very good. They appear to be well made. No extra parts and no switching between manual and automatic modes. My son loves using it and puts it to good use. It's worth the money I…

Pros

Cons
  • Not as fat as the others

Poor quality

I wanted my preschooler to like these scissors, I really did. It seemed such a great idea. Our pair was difficult to move together and the blades ended up getting stuck. Also, the cutting edge doesn't reach the tip, and there is a raised edge around the scissors, making it very difficult to see the line when trying to cut them. They're good for confetti shredding and random cutting, but useless unless you're really trying to cut something - it's very hard for me to do it myself with them (or at
