GENERAL: I needed something to monitor my vitals while I sleep in case anyone in my family gets COVID-19 and alarms when heart rate or oxygen levels begin to decline. This block does it well and is easy to use once it works. It's the only device in stock I could find that can be worn while sleeping with a beep, so I took a chance. HOW TO GET IT WORKING: I have read recent reviews of this product not starting or charging. I'm a power electronics designer and have equipment that can help as I suspected the lithium battery in this product was dead from sitting on the shelf for too long. Below are the steps you can take to bring this product back to life. 1. Plug in the USB charger and let it charge for at least 2 hours. The LED should glow orange-yellow. Do not try to turn on.2. Unplug your device for a few seconds and then plug it back in. When the welcome message on the screen flashes and then disappears, the battery has "woken upβ and needs a full charge. Allow the device to charge for at least 4 hours and then turn it on by pressing the power button. If the device does not turn on, repeat step 1.3. The battery gauge should show 1/2 or more of a full charge. Disconnect the USB charger. If the device stays on and running for more than 10 minutes, turn it off and stop charging.** The battery doesn't last as long as it should, but it should last at least overnight. If the LED does not light up, or repeating step 1 does not wake up the battery, or if the device has not been used for more than 8 hours, or if you see the product has swollen, return it immediately. PROS: The screen is clear, and while the one-button interface is annoying, it works well. The measurements appear to be accurate as long as you don't swing your arm around too much. 10 years ago it was a good product. The device is comfortable to wear and I think it will work well for back or side sleepers. Like a man who sleeps on his stomach, he interfered too much. BAD: The software download link no longer works and the manual is for Windows Vista or 7, which indicates its age. This product has been left on the shelf for a long time, resulting in battery damage. The company had to recall devices that haven't been sold within a certain timeframe to upgrade the battery, but they obviously didn't because it would have cost them more money. The device is a bit bulkier than necessary, but it is also getting on in years. You assume the risk by purchasing this product. To debug and "wake up" the battery, I used the "USB Safety Tester" available from Revain.
