Overall this shelf was exactly what I was looking for. I assembled it myself in about an hour while my children whirled around me. The uprights seem quality enough but the wood-look vinyl used to cover the particle board shelves is easily damaged and not well adhered. I had read this in other reviews so it wasn't a surprise when I had a few dents. I was able to put a couple dents to the back but one glares at me from the front. For the price I paid and after a long shipment timeframe it wasn't worth the hassle of returning or exchanging. since it otherwise was exactly what I needed. I felt what I got for what I paid was fair. If I want quality solid wood furniture then I should shut up and pay for it. (-;
