The bombs I've made with these molds have always turned out great. I use a wooden spoon and hit the edge of the shape that runs along their "equator" to avoid denting them (I made that mistake once, but the dent is small and totally unnoticeable in bombs anyway). No, they don't stay closed, you'll have to find that out for yourself (tip: rubber bands work great for this). I'm going to buy another set soon! I was initially disappointed with the size when I received it, but it ended up working even better for my purposes, so I'm glad it turned out that way.
