Once installed and tightened these jacks are very strong. However, getting them to this point is difficult as they tip over and break into four pieces very easily. If you are trying to install them under a support beam, you must secure the beam first. If the beam moves at all, it will knock over the jack and you will have to put the pieces back together. Assembly would be much easier if the threaded ring and two base plates were screwed or snapped onto the main column. You'll need to hold the four pieces together while positioning the panels. It took me a lot of tries and a lot of frustration before I was able to secure everything.
