The AM/FM antenna that came with my radio was a standard cable which could not pick up some of the local stations in the area. I have the system in a cupboard at the top of the stairs just below the roof line. So I bought this antenna, I thought with an active amplifier and that would all be great. Instead, it seemed to make noise at most stations. When I say "noise" I mean it was a loud high frequency noise that couldn't be used. The radio's automatic channel selection function kept all 20 channels on the noise of this antenna. Replaced it with a $7 non-powered antenna and was finally able to use the radio as expected.
