My son is 8 years old about 65 pounds. I bought 8 for him and they fit great! It's a typical size 8 for most brands. I think they fit like Target's Cat and Jack brand does a size 8. They have a bit of stretch which is nice as my son works out 4 days a week. I also like that they have an adjustable waist. Please note that this is a button closure so they may not be suitable for younger children. I've only washed them once, but they've held up great! (I didn't tumble dry fully just a few minutes to smooth out the wrinkles) I will definitely buy them again! **Edit** I've washed them over 10 times and they look brand new. I haven't fully dried them yet, but as far as washing goes, they've held up well. My son loves the comfort and these are his favorite shorts!
