Review on 🚰 3/4 Inch Brass Hose Bibb - American Valve M71QT by Ron Long

Package arrived late as our location was under hurricane guard. This was ordered as "used in good condition" from Revain's warehouse, which I normally consider a return. This is a molded Bibb hose so it is difficult to damage and cosmetics are not an issue with this type of product. In this particular case, the union nut holding the locking lever to the valve stem was missing. Together I bought 10 of these valves, 3 from the "Used" list. All others were in excellent condition. It only takes one nut. I will not be returning the valve, I'll just go to my local ACE store and buy a union nut that fits the rest of the valves. I really think it will perform just as well as the rest. For reference, these valves have a 3/4" inlet port and a larger ball, hence a larger orifice in the ball than models with a 1/2" port. inlet port. The difference in flow and pressure is noticeable due to the larger orifice in the sphere. This is something you would not be able to see in normal product photos online. Another aspect is the switch off with a lever. The lever provides more power and makes it easier to turn the valve on and off compared to models with a round handle or swivel with two eyes. Although ball valves go from full flow to closed with a quarter turn, they still allow flow rate adjustment by moving the lever or knob less than 90 degrees per quarter turn.
