The problem with the valve is that the nut and threaded portion are not long enough to fit a standard wrench or pipe wrench and tighten them easily in the socket. Update: This winter we had a severe hard frost which blew all these blocks which I have used in places to water hoses gardens and plants connect to. BUT I am ordering more PLUS screw caps to replace in winter. I don't use these lines in winter anyway, so they just lie there and wait for frost. I unscrew the caps 3/4" and tuck in the bibs.
