I was going to give one star but gave it an extra because the seller emailed me asking me to recognize my experience in this business. However, I can't help but be disappointed with the product and feel the need to leave a review. I bought this for my young son's birthday, for fruit skewers and sandwiches. Unfortunately I overlooked "handmade" in the description. It was so handcrafted that it looked like it had been assembled in someone's home. First of all I was put off by the poor packaging as it didn't look professional and it was in resealable plastic bags. It also had no certification or information about where it was made. What really bothered me was that there was a strong smell when opening the packaging. It wasn't just the smell of bamboo, but a hint of chemistry, either from the bead itself or something used to clean the pickaxe. I thought about soaking it in water or washing it with dish soap before using it, but considering it's intended for kids, I just don't have the confidence to use it to eat. Unfortunately, the purchase does not state that this item is non-refundable. But Revane was kind enough to give me my money back.
