So absolutely MASSIVE (in terms of width). This is the most obvious problem; When the package arrived I was very worried that they would actually be too small/narrow but, BOY, was I wrong. Surprisingly they fit the shin length (fits my heel; for reference I wear a size 7 street shoe and ordered them in a size 7 [apparently a size 40W]), but there is A LOT of extra fabric. hanging on both sides and dangling from behind both when I relax and when I stand up. Granted, silicone toe pads make a HUGE difference. They really help cushion my toes and are thick enough to fit almost a box. But even with padding (I use cloth toe caps, silicon toe caps and a bundle of lambswool in the box of each shoe) the box and the profile (height) of the shoes are way too big. This can be helpful for dancers who widen the balls of their feet on pointe shoes (although mine stay pretty much the same, so I'll dip into my shoes). The material on the outside is nice (real satin) and the upper of these shoes is surprisingly durable, but I can tell that the inside of the sole is cheaply made (ie these shoes are NOT built to last). I also have a toe tilt problem; It's beveled at the top, so I'm having a hard time going all the way through the box (that's a personal issue; I have a flat arch). I am a former dancer of 15 years experience who resumed earlier this year after a 7-8 year hiatus and I only bought these shoes to practice/"feel" pointe shoes again so I guess that I will leave her anyway. Box and stock have decent integrity. However, if you plan to use them for actual teaching/performance, I strongly recommend you prepare for the actual business. They just won't do what the average dancer needs.
