Fake Belgian Waffle Iron

Call me a waffle iron snob, but this iron doesn't make waffles anywhere near like real Belgian waffles. Don't believe me, search the internet for "real Belgian waffle thickness". You'll find that the true standard of Belgian waffles is 1.5 inches thick. See my photos. This allows a good quality batter to rise to create a nice fluffy waffle with more surface area and a strong structure that will support any toppings you put on top. The waffles I cooked with this iron were less than 1 inch and chewy, even with good waffle batter. Suitable for those who are content with plastic paraphernalia, fake diamonds and cheap beer. My old VillaWare iron cooked 1.70" waffles, making Cuisinart waffles look like pancakes. Worse, I doubt this iron will last more than 3 years because it's so cheap. When I first took it out of the box, the tanning button (timer) and its metal insert fell off. I have no doubt that it will not last 14 years like my VillaWare iron. It also tans unevenly, see my photos. Cuisinart used to be a brand the chef was proud of, but no longer. Elehomes is the best choice. How I miss my VillaWare iron.

Pros
  • Convenient twist function for even top and bottom baking
Cons
