New to shampoo bars? Me too.

New to shampoo bars? I was too. Ethique is the first brand I’ve tried. It takes some time to adjust to a solid vs liquid, so my overall advice is to give it time. These bars do lather, but they seem to lather better once they’ve been worked in the water a bit during the first use. They don’t immediately lather like liquid soap; I found it helps to lather the bar up in my hands first, then dip my head back in the water a couple times as I’m working the shampoo into my roots. The conditioner bars are easier to just apply directly to the ends of your hair.I did notice a reduction in shedding after using these bars for a while. My hair stays cleaner after a couple days and I’m also using less product post-wash. The bars last a very long time and may seem more expensive up front, but for the length of time they last, it’s worth it.The only thing I didn’t like about these bars is the amount of oats in the Heali Kiwi shampoo bar; the oats made the bar a bit rough after a while and I felt like there was less soap because of the amount of oats, and the bar didn’t last as long. I also ended up using the bar as a body scrub bar after a while. The Frizz Wrangler bars are much better, and don’t seem to weigh my hair down or make it greasy (I have a TON of very fine hair).Overall: these bars are great, make the switch, give it time. You’ll be glad you did!
