This turntable sounds as good as any $600 turntable in my opinion, and I'd recommend just getting the cheaper $179 base model. It's not like this. However, I have decided to buy a "cheap Chinese" stick-based turntable and upgrade that as much as possible, sacrificing slightly the sound quality in favor of a more comfortable and durable turntable. Don't forget the $46 cue lever is a must have unless I think you're a vinyl ninja who can lift a needle in the ideal vertical tension. It's a really great cue lever, better than anything else on Hanpin, but it's really the only part of this player other than the power button that feels solid.
