Ideal for 30Amp Motorhomes

Fits Class A Motorhomes (30Amp operation). I used a 100 amp shunt. Connected to 22/4 stranded signal cable purchased from a home store at 0.30 cents per foot. Mounts flush with the RV control panel. The device works as advertised and I am very satisfied. Another reviewer mentioned using a DPDT switch to monitor both charge and discharge readings with a single meter. Sounds like a good idea to me. I will update after installing the switch. At the moment I have a flow meter to measure the flow. I wish I had bought this many years ago. Update 02/14/2017: I installed a DPDT (Dual Pole Dip Switch). This allows a single meter to measure discharge or charge rate (or measure voltage only when it's off). Works perfectly. Simply connect a switch to swap the two conductors connected to the shunt. In my case it was the green and white wires. Only for information. Your situation may be different. Update 04/06/2017: In any case, my alternator draws a maximum of 79 amperes when starting (for a short time). So for my van a 100 ampere shunt is enough. The alternator starter is my largest 12 volt household battery. Using this monitor, I found that having my van plugged into shore power with the Use/Save switch in the save position resulted in a constant power consumption of around 13 watts. If I switch off the shore power, consumption drops to zero. I don't know why it is like this. But it's good to know, and it explains why I've had multiple battery discharges in the past. Update March 29, 2020: This meter has been on continuously for over three years. never missed It still works fine. One of the few systems in my van that hasn't failed yet.
