I liked the modern look of this salt shaker. However, the bowl is very light even when full. So when you close them you need two hands, one to stabilize and one to close the lid while trying to hold the salt between your fingers. It's the opposite of good industrial design, because you want to be able to use a salt shaker with one hand while you're cooking. If the base was weighted (like a glass or ceramic salt shaker), you could simply slide it up to open and forward to close. But when you close this salt shaker with one hand, the whole bowl tilts forward and the salt splatters onto your counter. When they get back to the design testing process I'd love to see what they can come up with to make it more user friendly, but until then I can't recommend it to other chefs. Plus, it contains less than 1/2 cup of salt, which means it needs constant refilling.
