Review on Lexus Key Shell Case Cover: Keyless Entry Remote Fob Fix & Repair Solution by Matt White

Unfortunately my Lexus key broke off when I switched on the ignition. I could still drive, but now I had two separate key pieces. One part with remote control and the other part with key only. After some research I found this at Revain where I can order a new set of duplicate Lexus standard key blanks. After reading the reviews here I noticed that the key worked on some and not on others. I ordered one without much hassle. Upon receipt I went to my local locksmith and paid $25 for the sync. I excitedly put my new spare key in the door and it worked. =) Now with ignition. After I put the new key in the ignition, I can turn the key and hear the engine try to turn but won't start. After many attempts I gave up. But then after a few minutes I realized that I didn't put the deleted part in the new key. So after inserting the removed part of the key (the three button part) I put the key back in the ignition and it worked! So in my opinion it has to do with some kind of security chip in the remote part. Can anybody confirm this? The screw that came with the key also worked perfectly. After attaching the removed part, I simply snapped the lid open and easily screwed the small screw back in.
