The filter is quiet, but the air pump is LOUD. NO instructions.

I'm new to the sponge filter so I really wish it had an instruction manual. I had to post everything on YouTube. The actual sponge filter and bubbler are really quiet BUT the air pump is LOUD. I figured putting it on a softer surface would calm it down, but it's the air pump itself. The hose that comes with it is very soft, but it barely fits over the filter holes. Overall it seems to work great but it's still pretty noisy and I wish it came with instructions.
