I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this but my 4 year old 17" laptop was getting too hot from regular activities like using Pandora all day. I'm not a gamer so I wasn't interested in super bright neon action games. All I needed was a quiet fan situation that would allow me to squeeze more life out of an otherwise perfect laptop. Just got it, plugged into USB and it's perfect. Super quiet (and believe me, just a little bit of noise is enough to piss me off) and in less than 5 minutes my laptop is cold and staying cool. . Highly recommended.
