Review on πŸ“Ί VIVO Bolt-Down TV Stand for 23-43 inch Screens, Desktop VESA Mount, Sturdy Tabletop TV Display - STAND-TV00M2 by Michael Tucker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good unit at a reasonable price

Mounts to an existing hinged shelf that used to hold a smaller TV. New TV Samsung M4500 with a diagonal of 32 inches. Looks pretty solid. I cannot comment on the supplied bolts/screws as I screwed them to the steel shelf using aerospace grade hardware and the TV came with the correct screws to attach the VESA adapter plate. A small overlay washer on the shaft helps keep the setup nice and clean. A few small notes. First, the VESA plate actually blocked some of the TV's ports, specifically the component video output and the digital audio output. It didn't affect my installation as I don't use those features. However, the "rounded" sides of the VESA plate could probably be a bit deeper. I have a bandsaw and I could modify this part if I wanted to. Second, there is a neat little hole for the cable in the middle of the vertical shaft. A nice feature, but on my Samsung the HDMI and power jacks were near the right edge of the TV so the feature was wasted. Third, I would like a drawing of the mounting base with dimensions showing the distance between the holes. . After reading through the Q&A, it turned out to be 4.9 inches in diameter with 2.7 inch square holes per side. However, it would save me some work if it was included in the instructions or even available online. The outside of the carton gives the overall dimensions of the unit, but not the mounting plate details. However, it won't affect most of you who simply glue the device in place and drill holes. The unit has a fixed height, which is probably fine for most uses, but it does elevate the underside of my relatively small TV up to five inches off the shelf. Slightly higher than I wanted as the folding shelf is already five feet off the floor. But did I mention I have a bandsaw? :-) Nice device for the price, but I'd happily spend an extra $5 or $10 for a device that would give me some height flexibility.
