This was a difficult review to write.

This was a harsh review as I really liked some aspects of this case but almost hated some other aspects of it. Appearance: This case looks great - both front and back. I bought the rose gold color for my rose gold iPad. If you look at the image that shows the back of the case, you'll see that it complements it very well. The back of the case also has a circular cutout with the Apple logo. It simply complements the look of the case. Design and functionality: This case consists of two parts. (a) The "so-called" leather part that opens and closes. The case closes with a magnetic clasp. (b) Rigid plastic attached to the back of the skin. So basically you open the case and then attach the iPad to the hard plastic. Important: Please note that not the entire back of the hard plastic is bonded to the leather part. Only half is. Because the manufacturer wanted to add a rotating pen to its design. So you have the option of using this case to place your iPad horizontally or vertically while viewing something on it. On the other hand, since the entire back of the hard plastic is not connected to the leather part, the iPad often falls over and slides. That can be very disappointing! There is a small elastic insert on the side of the case to hold the Apple Pen, which is a nice touch. There's also an elasticated grip that you can slide your fingers under while holding the case. However, this feature was not very helpful for me. Protection: As long as your case is sealed with a magnetic closure, I think it will withstand a small drop. However, if you drop it while in use (ie with the top folded back) you may damage your iPad. As mentioned above, the reason is that the entire back of the hard case is not connected to the leather part and therefore does not offer full stability. Case Strength and Quality: I've read some reviewers complaining that the stitching has come apart. However, I've been using this case regularly for a few months and the stitching is still intact. The leather part (I don't think it's leather) seems solid and of good quality. However, the hard plastic inside feels pretty cheap. Price: This is an attractive case that offers both horizontal and vertical viewing options. But definitely not the most comfortable to use as it rotates too much (swivel function). So the price seems a bit overpriced to me - $16.99. All in all, if looks are more important to you, go for this case. This is one of the most beautiful iPad cases I have ever seen. But if comfort and ease of use are a priority, then this is definitely not for you.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • flimsy
