Review on Bamboo Home Bread Slicer: ๐Ÿž Achieve Perfectly Sliced Bread at Home by Kevin Tompkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Full of junk in the kitchen and dining room

The best thing you can do with this slicer is use it to light a fireplace on a cold winter's day. There are so many misleading ads about this product that it almost deserves an FTC complaint. There are at least two main issues with the product. First, the inside dimension of the cutting guide is about 1 inch wider than an actual loaf of bread from a bread machine (Zojirushi in my case). That means the bread will move like an oiled pig in the guide as you try to slice it. Second, since nothing is as simple as rubber feet on the guide, it glides across the countertop as the bread slides within. Therefore, you should try to pin the bread at the same time as cutting the guide. No details on the 3/8" cut. Instead, the reviewers here tell tall tales about how they used their calibrated eyeballs to get the desired result. On one point, everyone agrees that the included knife is useless. Bottom line : If it's a Revain choice, ask what the choice is for besides throwing it out the kitchen window, as it will confirm your worst suspicions about Made in China.
