I bought this product for stock because the price was affordable and it had good reviews. Overall I like the scanner but I have to say it takes a little getting used to and I never fully trust it. I do everything with insurance. let me explain. As I mentioned, I bought it for inventory purposes, so it needs to be away from my computer when in storage. When I first used the scanner, I noticed green and blue lights. After getting used to the fact that green means "good," I figured that the item I was scanning was being counted correctly on my computer, and if it was being scanned blue, something was wrong. But this was not the case. If it made the usual high-pitched sound and turned blue, it meant it was over, but if the sound dropped a tone and the green light blinked, the item was "stored" in some sort of cloud. I later learned that in order to account for this item, all I have to do is point the scanner up in the air and pull the trigger and the blue light will flash and I will hear the correct ringing and the item will be counted. At the end of my first inventory, after entering it into my system, I noticed that my numbers were far from correct and I had to do a manual inventory to verify this, which frustrated me greatly. This caused twice the work and doubled the time, and I realized the scanner was the problem, not my inventory. Needless to say, I was ready to return it, but I chose a different method; I plugged the USB scanner into my laptop and took it to storage (about 200 feet and two doors from my office where my computer is) to take another inventory so I can physically see what's being scanned and if it is scanned. had to. This time I found that the item was "saved" much less often and the number of perfect scans I got was far greater than any errors. Our numbers usually start with 00 but we have 01 numbers and I have found that the 01 numbers can get mixed up but this is easy to fix as the laptop is right there, I can type it in manually. screen, but that's just my preference. All in all I can recommend this scanner. It's affordable, lightweight and does what I need, I just had to build a system with it.
