I bought this as a cage for my pup who is now 9 months old and weighs 15lbs. Based on the measurements, the medium appeared to be the right size even when fully grown (I have an adult dog of a similar but heavier spitz breed to compare and measure this dog with). Be careful of measurements though - these measurements are OUTSIDE and at their widest points; the interior (especially the area of the floor where the dog lies) is significantly smaller, making it too cramped for my pup. Here's what I measured inside for the environment; Dimensions in brackets refer to the product description: Length (floor from back to door): 62 cm/24.4" (28") Width (floor) 39 cm/15.35" (20.5") Height: 50cm/19.7in (21.5) The cage is wider in the middle (where the two sections meet) and tapers towards the base - this helps increase space when the dog is sitting or standing , but I am disappointed because the actual area my dog lies on is much smaller than I expected. My dog is definitely not comfortable here and cannot stretch his legs which is his preferred sleeping position and now only fits with the door removed. (I measured my older dog stretched out and figured the younger one would fit!) It's also well made, easy to assemble, easy to clean and well ventilated. Just wish the measurements more accurately reflect the actual space your dog has.
