Review on Hydrofarm AAPA15L Active Aqua 4 Outlet Air Pump - 6W, 15 L/min Flow Rate, Silver by Sharese Mekang

I have this AND a smaller 7.8L/min Hydrofarm pump as well as other pumps like the Tetra. I do aquaponics myself and grow tilapia. I've tried several different pumps and so far this brand has been the best value based on two main points: #1) Airflow per dollar spent. This pump delivers a LARGE flow of air through FOUR separate, independent outlets. That's a huge benefit, eliminating the need for a tee AND two control valves, which not only can slow down airflow, but also make adjustment difficult. #2) Noise. I was very impressed with the low noise level, which is significantly quieter than the smaller Hydrofarm, although the specs say otherwise. Very impressive, especially for a high volume pump. This pump is almost as quiet as a Tetra Whisper, but 300% more powerful than a Whisper for the same price. It also has very little vibration. Additional bonuses are 4 outlets as mentioned and adjustable airflow which is really cool. I have several pumps including several Whispers such as the Whisper 20, Whisper 40 and the larger Tetra 26075 Whisper Air Pump, 150 which even then only produces 2.6L/min while this suction cup delivers 15L/min although the Whisper is definitely the quietest pump on the market. Even the Whisper 300 has a flow rate of only 4.6 l/min and costs three times as much. RESULT: This is now my favorite pump out of about 8 pumps that I own. There are other pumps that produce more airflow, but they are much more expensive and very noisy. There are quieter pumps on the market too, but you'll need 2 or 3 of them to output the same volume of air as these. For the techies, the specs are on the box: Power = 6W; Pressure => 2,319psi; air outlet = 15 l/min; Noise = <45dB; weight = 3.5 pounds; Size = 187mm x 165mm x 95mm (7.3" x 6.5" x 3.75"). Yes, it's HUGE. Comes with a 4ft cord.
