Review on 🚐 Facon Surface Interior Indicator Motorhome: Optimize Your RV's Interior Illumination by Tim Curd

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very nice light, but spoiled for expansion by bad design.

Very good light but spoiled by poor design to remove the trim ring. I bought this to replace the smaller LED lights in my caravan but the ring fits so snugly on the light that once it snaps in place (after the light is fitted to the ceiling) it cannot be removed without the mounting screws pull out the bracket. Ceiling (you must remove the ring to access the mounting screws). It may be ok if the mount was screwed into hardwood but will not work in soft RV ceiling material. I suppose you could go ahead and install them and hope you never have to take them off, but I've had problems with LEDs before so I don't think I'll risk it. I'm glad I just bought 1 to test before buying all 10 I need. UPDATE: I still really like this light so I tried to find a solution to make it easier to remove the ring after installation. I used my Dremel tool with a small grinding wheel to reduce the depth of the three ridges holding the ring in place by about half. It's soft plastic, so I could probably use a sharp knife, but hey, power tools are always more fun. Now the ring still snaps securely into place, but it's relatively easy to remove without the screws coming out of the soft ceiling material in my caravan. I'm increasing my rating from 2 to 4 stars. Would be full 5 stars if no modification was required, although I'm sure many people don't worry enough about having to remove the ring after installation, so don't. Don't worry like me.
