Review on BaoFeng UV-S9 Plus: Powerful 8-Watt Dual Band Ham Two Way Radio with Accessories by Chad Chavez

I bought this Baofeng UV-S9 before realizing it wasn't even a real registered Baofeng model. So I knew right away I was getting a fake, but I was hoping. The radio arrived with everything listed on the product sheet, but there are some issues. First, the long antenna they offer as an upgrade doesn't work at all as the base is larger than the radio mount it's supposed to fit in, making it impossible to screw it all the way onto the radio. I tried it anyway, and of course it didn't get a signal. The contents of the box were also simply thrown into the box in a disorderly manner. Some parts were in a plastic bag while others were just floating in the box. The longer antanae were also too long for the box so they bent it sharp enough to fit in, tight enough that when I picked it up it flipped over and flew about 5 feet away from me. There is also no FCC rating on the radio label. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 just because it works pretty well picking up a signal as long as I leave the radio on. When I put it down it gets very static and loses signal. It also has a gap between the digital screen bezel and the radio bezel indicating the very poor quality of the components and you can see the screen light shining through this gap from inside the radio. This may be one of only 3 bad reviews I've ever given, but this product doesn't deserve more than 3 stars.
