I would love this magnifying glass if it weren't for the "smudge "

After buying several loupes (mainly Carson brand) this loupe seems to be my favorite. Carson Lighted Magnifold comes in second place. I like the AAA battery. If I accidentally leave the light on which drains the battery, all I need is new AAA batteries. For special batteries I have to go to the radio shop, which is a problem. This magnifier is lightweight even with two AAA batteries. I open the split pen and place both feet on my stomach, then turn around a bit while reading the lines on the page. Comparing rectangular versus round loupes: I have a rectangular loupe and it tends to tilt at an angle, kind of a hit. rectangle assignment. When the loupe is not in use I place the loupe in an oven mitt with a terry cloth pouch to prevent rubbing or scratching the acrylic. The company does not offer a protective case. Acrylic surfaces are easily scratched and scratched, and you cannot repair them afterward. All you can do is prevent scratches. I'll keep the magnifying glass in a potholder somewhere on my desk. What ruins this loupe is the 3.5x bifocal lens (the 'spot') which blocks capture at this point. I don't really know why that pinpoint lens is being added - it's a pain in the ass - if someone needs the extra magnification, let them take charge and carry around a second lens. "Stain" is why I'm looking for another magnifier.
