Review on Rokinon Speed Angle Fujifilm Mount Camera & Photo by Christopher Yap

Sharp beautiful bokeh, aperture ring clicking

I love this Rokinon lens on my Sony A6500. Seriously, it's sharp enough across the entire frame when the aperture is wide open in portrait mode. When stopped, sharpen to infinity across the entire frame. Mine is well centered (which was not the case with most other Samyang lenses I've tried). As small and light as it is, I like the clicking aperture ring and smooth focusing that has just the right amount of travel for my liking. I don't shoot videos and I just don't buy any other lens without an attachable aperture ring. Much sharper than the two 35mm 0.95 lenses I also tried and even sharper than the 35mm 1.8 OSS copy I had. We will do and visually superb I may have won the QC lottery but I will take it. The only downside is the hood, but that's acceptable. I don't actually use it much, I usually shade the lens with my hand when needed. Finally, the lens mounts very smoothly on my camera, which is not always the case with third-party lenses.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
