This controller is basically the same as the Xbox Elite Controller but at half the price. With the SN30 Pro+, the remapping wasn't that special since almost every controller now has this function. The Xbox controller can be remapped natively in Windows and Xbox, the Switch Pro controller recently got the ability to remap buttons via a firmware update, and even the DualSense controller can remap buttons. However, the addition of rear blades really took it a step further. Now you really have extra buttons to use without taking your hands off the analog sticks. In any case, I find that most games have a reasonable default layout, so switching the keys didn't appeal to me. In addition, the new mobile app makes it easier to set up and test custom layouts. Currently, the apps are being criticized because many people are upset that they don't support the original SN30 Pro+. Based on my testing, the app works as expected, I can't ask for more. My only criticism of the app is that I wish it paired with the controller a little faster. You don't expect this controller to be comfortable as it basically looks like a SNES controller that grew legs. I can tell you this is one of the most comfortable controllers I have ever used. I had no problems using this controller for very long gaming sessions. I wish the analog sticks were offset like the Xbox controller, but that's quite a minor thing. Another innovation with this controller is that switching between different modes is now easily done with a switch on the back rather than a keyboard shortcut. It's a small change, but it makes switching between devices a lot easier. The buttons are excellent, as is the crossbar. Many people complain that the D-Pad doesn't register input properly, but unless you play competitive fighting games, you won't have this problem at all. Overall I am very happy with this controller. This controller replaces my Switch Pro controller and also serves as the primary controller when playing on my Android TV system for emulation/streaming. It gives you the same remapping and manipulation features as the Xbox Elite controller but without breaking your wallet. This is a simple recommendation.
