Review on Vantec CB-ST00U3 NexStar USB 3.0 to SATA 6Gbps Adapter: Efficient Optical/Storage Connection, Black by Joshua Douglas

This is a reliable USB 3.0 SATA docking station with good read and write speeds. I love that it has a power button (something many competing models don't have) and it even comes with a soft, thin mat to accommodate an attached hard drive/optical drive for stability and surface protection. My only complaint is that this device doesn't seem to support flashing the BIOS of connected drives, which is particularly annoying with optical drives as the reason for buying such a dock seems to be to avoid internal connection. Some competing USB docks support this feature (and they're no less cheaper than Vantec), so I don't see why Vantec wasn't designed for it.
