As can be seen in the attached photo, this is a platform bed. It fits into your existing crib mattress if you plan on keeping it and using it to transfer your child to the new Delta toddler bed. It's not made out of heavy durable wood so don't trust the description. If you've been to an IKEA store, the material for this bed is very similar (chipboard). Very fine details. The assembly was very easy. The bed is equipped with all appliances. Have a screwdriver ready. I highly recommend the Stanley Ratchet Screwdriver. Fewer curses or risk of anger turning parts of the bed into flying projectiles. The design is simple, fun, and the colors are bright and full of life. The surface is smooth and feels very comfortable. No chips or hard textures bed delivered in original packaging and in very good condition. There were no signs of wear on the packaging. To conclude my review of this particular baby crib, I recommend it if you have a toddler who feels very adventurous at bedtime and is at risk of falling over. The bed is positioned very low to the ground, preventing injury from falls. Although it's so easy for these little people to get out, you can give them a glass of wine, a glass of ice cream, a bottle of beer, a piece of cheesecake and herd them back to their room. A tall pet gate or childproof doorknob can help little escape artists. Depends on how experienced little Houdini is.
