Review on Dirza Hanger Garage Bicycle Storage by Jason Holt

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Almost 5 stars. Requires modification

A ready made solution is good for you and will work fine with lighter bikes. mounted on bolts. My giant bike is slightly heavier than my wife's bike. While hers looks stiff, mine slopes down a bit because it's heavier. So here are 2 simple modifications I recommend if you have a heavier bike than usual: - Add washers when installing the bolts (or use other bolts with a wider head) as the head is barely big enough, to prevent it from going through the bracket hole. The puck helps with that. Drill a second latch at the top under the first so that there are TWO screws in the top half. (This is where most of the weight and stress will be. Gravity and the weight of the bike pulls up more than down. The top really needs to have 2 mounting points, and a bottom bolt is enough to stabilize it. PROS: + Mounting holes are stacked on top of each other so you can put all the screws in one line bolt + Allows bikes to be wall mounted side by side or one above the other + Tidy garage floor by mounting these on the wall CONS: - May require a few simple modifications for bikes heavier than 30 pounds are, other screws, and drill a second hole from the top to fight gravity and add weight to the mount) - I think it's a tube and a metal tab holding it horizontally, it can be a bit thicker, but at you'll never notice this on lighter bikes NOTES: - Measure from the base of the bracket to the end of the hooks - Measure outwards from the top tube of the bike. whether and/or handlebars - Add these two numbers and that's how far your bike will stick out of the wall. This is to prevent you from hitting it with your car/truck when driving into the garage. or the pedals can hit the side mirrors if they are at mid-height.

Pros
  • Home storage and organization
Cons
  • Very expensive
