These rods are AMAZING! They have done wonders for my hair! It took a little practice to get my curls this flawless, but don't give up! I watched a YouTube video about the "wrap" method instead of the traditional roll you think of when using rolls. The steps I took were: 1) wash hair, let it air dry mostly 2) add some hair oil 3) wrap it up and go to sleep 4) wake up, finger brush your curls, apply hairspray and go! They're not the most comfortable to sleep in, but they're not bad. I have long and thick hair and didn't need any curlers other than the ones in the pack.
