Many reviewers have already said that this is a great radio. When I received my device, the first thing that struck me was the excellent sound quality coming from its single speaker, both AM and FM. The maximum volume might not be that loud, but it can certainly fill a large room. As expected, the reception is excellent. A long retractable antenna helps a lot when you're getting a poor VHF signal. The setting speed on the main display is fast and you can see the display clearly, which is very useful when you want to see the time from a distance. The only downside I've come across so far is that regular AA batteries drain quickly, so I recommend you use good quality rechargeable AA batteries like the Panasonic Eneloop Pro we use.
